Freweini wrote and drew about her fears today in kindergarten class. The fears of sharks, waves, lions, and alligators seem to me all pretty standard six year old stuff. The one that really got me was the picture she drew a little girl outside a blue house with the word “lot” above it. I asked her to explain to me what she was afraid of and she said she was afraid of being lost, not being able to find her home. For a little girl who's been in Texas less than a year, and with all that she has undergone, I can understand. My hope is that her fear of being lost will diminish with time and love.
