Happy New Year!

Today, after picking Freweini up from he orphanage, we went back to the hotel, took another bath and tried on new clothes.  We had lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Bata, which I think means "enough" or "full" in Amahric.  The owner's daughter is wonderful to us and we had the traditional lunch followed by the coffee ceremony and popcorn.  Nobody can tell us why popcorn is served with Ethiopian coffee, it just always is!  Freweini had a super time seeing the lion's den (the bar with a stuffed lion in it) and laughing as we practiced our Amahric - learning how to say, "good girl" and "my beautiful princess" - Will's working on that one!  Then, we went to the "team House" where all of Will's buddies live and played Jenga and had Oreos with Jean (later known as Ethiopia Jean and one of Freweini's godfathers).  Jean took this picture of all of us.  It's a new year with a new family.  One that we hope will come together soon.
